i pulled the old mbbs 6.11 off the shelf on an old 486 cpu and also a 2nd
door machine from back in the day..and was just gonna see what was on the
beast and a bunch of door disks...

anyway....what was the latest vscan available back in the day..

mine it think was mcaffee version 2.22 or some such

if anyone knows a link off hand of the LAST more or less version available
for DOS 6.22 i'd appreciate the link...heck the last of any version with
latest update from any particular virius scan program back in the day would
prob work...

might as well check the stuff over with the LAST version available of
updates .....what the heck

now i just have to get the old 250 mb dc2120 trakker tape drive up on it...

good to have goals....pitiful as they may be

I would plug the drive into a win machine as a slave and scan it with I had
today.

I believe f-prot still makes a dos version... I'm pretty sure that's
what I used for my file processor with one of pcboard's file processors
back in the day..

avast vscan at www.avast.com makes a dos version for dos ..but the demo i
have for updates has 2005 listed...and there page is in the out of the loop
area...

i suppose someone could ask them if there is a way to get the updates to
work with the dos version or some kinda work around...in that i took the bbs
down in 2002 the 2005 file worked for me so i did not pursue that

anyway..they have a home edition ver of the stuff for windows 2000
etc...that is no cost ..it seems to work fine..for those looking for that
ver too

thanks for the reply
